STARS - Skills Training And Recreational Soccer


WHAT:  STARS is a recreational soccer program administered by the FC Dallas Emerald Coast competitive youth travel soccer club. This program is designed for kids of all levels of play with small sided teams to maximize players touches on the ball.  Games are 4v4 for U6 players and 6v6 for U8 and U10 players. 

Boys and girls ages 4 to 10. Teams will be coed.

: Practices and games to be held at Lewis School, Valparaiso
  • Field Map (coming soon)
  • Practice Schedules:  Practices will begin the week of February 13. U6 practices once/week, while U8 & U10 practice twice/week.
  • Game Schedules:  Games will be played on Saturday mornings, beginning February 25
  • End of Season Festival:  One day mini-tournament to be held on Saturday, April 29

REGISTRATION:  Registration is available in person or on-line.

Online Registration

  • Online registration will remain OPEN through Saturday, January 28, 2017 unless all spots are filled.
  • To register online, click on the following link and create an FC Dallas Emerald Coast (FCD-EC) Blue Sombrero account:  https://sports.bluesombrero.com/Default.aspx?tabid=313859
  •  Select the STARS - Skills Training And Recreational Soccer program applicable to your players age group and follow the prompts. 

      VERY IMPORTANT!  Please note the following with online registration:  

  • If you already have an FC Dallas Emerald Coast Blue Sombrero account, simply log in and select the STARS option to register.
  • This Blue Sombrero account link above is only for STARS.  You CAN NOT use your PAL, Coerver or other Blue Sombrero accounts to sign up for STARS.  
  • In addition to completing the online registration process noted above, you will also need to provide the US CLUB REGISTRATION/MEDICAL RELEASE FORM and your child's BIRTH CERTIFICATE.  The US Club Form is found in the "Forms" section below.  Please forward to Eric Navarre, the STARS program director by January 21.  You may deliver the documents either at one of the in-person registrations or by email at navarej@yahoo.com.

  • All forms to register your child are below so that you can save time and complete ahead of time.  Blank forms will be available at registration.
  • Please note that a copy of birth certificate and medical insurance information is required at registration.

Volunteer Coaches and Team Managers

With the exception of the mentoring coaches and referees, STARS is an all-volunteer organization. Without dedicated volunteers STARS could not exist. It is up to you to get involved to support the program for the kids. Remember, "In STARS it's about more than the game... it's about the kids".   If you have questions about becoming a volunteer coach, please contact the STARS program director, Eric Navarre at navarej@yahoo.com.


  • Complete this form and email to the STARS program director at navarej@yahoo.com.



  • The course costs $5. We will reimburse you for this course.  
  • It takes approximately 1 hour to complete the course. You can start/stop the course as needed and even take it over a multiple days so that you can work it in around your schedule.
  • When completing the application, please use "FC Dallas Emerald Coast - STARS" as the club name.



  • Once you complete the SIDELINE SPORTS COURSE, you will receive an email with your Certificate of Completion and a link to the US Club Background Screening site.  Forward that email to Eric Navarre at navarej@yahoo.com.  Then open the email back up and click the link.  
  • On the webpage that opens, click the 'Sign Up' button and complete the requested information to get to the background screening application.  Upon submission you will receive another email to activate your account.  
  • On the webpage that opens click the 'Activate My Account' button and complete the requested information.  You will need the Sideline Sports Completion Certificate Number to complete this step.  Also note that for club name you will choose FC Dallas Emerald Coast. 
  • Once you receive your background screening email with the 'CLEAR' result, please forward that email along with your to the STARS program director at navarej@yahoo.com.
